Project Trauma Support Peer Groups
The Project Trauma Support Peer Groups are weekly or biweekly gatherings open to any military members, veterans or first responders (police, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, corrections officers) with the desire to heal from the effects of trauma.
We have learned that healing from PTSD and Moral Injury is best accomplished through connection; isolation and loneliness only leads to more suffering.
There is no cost to attend the meetings.
The groups are a fellowship of members who share their experience, strength and hope with each other. The leaders donate their time because they care. This is a safe place where everyone in attendance has earned their seat. The group provides a forum where openness and honesty are admired and encouraged under an umbrella of assured confidentiality and anonymity.
The purpose of the groups are not to exchange war stories so details of traumatic incidents are not shared. Instead, the meetings are intended to help members weave a new story of hope and healing. Come for support and understanding, new tools and attitudes and new friends.
“For me the peer support group is a safe place I can go once a week and be with other first responders who truly understand what I’m going through. I can be honest and not feel judged. I can shed a tear and not feel weak. I can be in a room full of other warriors and finally not feel all alone.”
